Stumptown Coffee Roasters Roasted on 12th & Madision, Seattle Washington
Having worked in the coffee business since his high-school days, founder Duane Sorenson is a rock star in the small roaster world. And with good reason: In 1997, he pioneered direct trade with farmers, making it possible to buy a couple of bags of hand-selected beans rather than a container crammed with 250 bags. Stumptown’s dedication to the farmer doesn’t stop there. Sorenson flies his growers to Seattle, Portland, and New York City to see where their beans are going and to meet the people who swear by the final product (like us!)

Sunshine Dairy Sunshine Dairy sources fresh milk from family farms in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, the Yakima Valley and Chehalis, Washington. Their partners in Farmers Cooperative Creamery , based in McMinnville, Oregon, have pledged not to use recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBST). Since the introduction of rBST in 1994, Sunshine has formed relationships with farmers who believe natural is better and make farming choices that support healthy cows and quality milk.

The tea industry in many parts of the world is known to use pesticides, often in high doses.
